Cape Spear at Sunrise
On Saturday morning I was up 5 a.m. and drove to Cape Spear with a couple of other photographers to take photographs as the sun was rising. Cape Spear is the most easterly point in North America and to see the sun come up on a glorious morning is really a wonderful experience. Here are a few photos that hopefully will give you some idea of what the experience was like.

Sunset at Long Pointe Twillingate
While on vacation I witnessed some spectacular sunsets. This is one I photographed off Long Pointe in Twillingate. I took many pictures during this sunset and the colours are all different in each one. It’s amazing how quickly the sky changes colours during a sunset. While photographing the sunset I looked at the Lighthouse behind me and low and behold there was a huge Moon just beginning to show in the sky. It was an awesome sight. Note the sunset colours reflecting on the Moon and the landscape.
To get this last photograph I took two exposures, one of the Lighthouse and one of the Moon.
Hope you enjoy the pictures but it is nothing like being there. By the way, we could see whales that evening along with a dozen or so small boats out jigging cod during the food fishery. I took these photos on August 4th.
