Wabush & IOC
As the economy slides into recession we are seeing more and more layoffs in our province. The top six photos in the collage above are of the Wabush Mines iron ore processing facility and the bottom two are of the entrance to IOC.
Today layoffs were announced in Wabush and as for IOC they have already announced cancellation of major expansion and cut backs in staff. What a difference a year makes. Just a year ago IOC announced a major multi million dollar expansion and this area looked like it was to explode in terms of growth. That is now all changed. However, like everything in life there are ups and downs and things will eventually turn around.
You can see from the smoke bellowing into the sky there was very little wind. Very different from what we experience in St. John’s.
