Photographed at the Geo Centre on Saturday evening.

These are flowers growing in our backyard. I used my Canon G2 fisheye again to get the circular motion in the flowers. Sunlight was coming from the left side which helps bring out flower texture. The second image is a shot of two tulips and I composed to get this artistic look and then I converted using saturation stylizer filter in Nik software.

Just trying to be creative with standard photos you can take from your backyard. It's amazing what you can capture once you start looking at the world differently. Beauty is all around us even in the fog :).

Trees

Here are some more photos from my Saturday hike. Yes, in case you are wondering I did manage to keep up with the group dispute being busy taking photos :).

Again, these are fisheye images . Not that evident on the tree but note the curve in the sky and the ocean. The B&W is my attempt at being artistic.

I'm not sure if you ever thought of this but finding a lone tree worth photographing is very hard. if you don't believe me trying finding one and you might be surprised how difficult it is.

If you know of lots of lone trees let me know because I love photographing them.

Hiking

Here is another photo from my Saturday hike along the East Coast Trails from Flatrock to Torbay.

My new Canon G12 has a fisheye capability which I love. I was experimenting with it when I happened upon this scene. I had to take this shot in an instant because the hiker was walking very quickly towards me and I figured with the camera on fisheye I would be able to get this tunnel effect. I was right!. The fisheye bent the trees in a circle type effect and it just encases the hiker. I was excited with the outcome but I think it would have been better if there were no people in the background. I  converted to B&W as well. I think the light can be seen better with the black and white but I like them both. Hope you do too!

East Coast Trails -Hiking Flatrock to Torbay

On Saturday we participated in the 11th annual Telly Hike which is a fund raiser for the East Coast Trails.

The hike we took was about 9km from Flatrock to Torbay. The day started out overcast but the sun came out later in the morning and it was just fantastic for hiking. The scenery was spectacular!

These are some photos I took during the hike. I'll share more over next few days.

These photos were taken with my new Canon G12 point & shoot. I bought it as a hiking and travel camera. I have to say I'm very impressed with the quality for a point and shoot
