The Dzolaci Dancers led by Curtis Andrews performed at the St. John's Folk Arts Council weekend music festival held in Bannerman Park. I took these images on Sunday afternoon. It was very difficult to get good pictures because of the bright sun and contrasty conditions. In the first image I wanted to get Curtis on the drums in the background while the dancers performed. In the second image I tried to get a sense of motion. You will notice small amounts of blur on the hands of some of the dancers. My understanding is that Curis Andrews spent a year in Ghana, Africia studying West African music and he is to be commended for bringing us this lively and entertaining music which adds to the diversity of our own local music scene.
