Whales

These photos were taken on Saturday, July 24, 2010 from a zodiac carrying eight photographers. The tour we took was at 6 a.m. and operated by Ecou Tours from Witless Bay. This particular tour was one of the most exciting experiences of my life. It was unreal to see these large creatures leap out of the water right in front of us and then feel the force as the whales splashed down on the ocean.

I was out in a Zodiac this evening with a group of photographers photographing whales and birds near Witless Bay. Surprisingly, there were not many whales and the water was very choppy. Despite this I did get these photos. I will post some pictures of puffins tomorrow.
