This is a picture of a plant leaf in the flower planter on my veranda. The rain drops on the plant leaf caught my eye so I used my macro lens to try and capture the water droplets and the texture of the plant. I played around in Photoshop to get the second image. I shot these daisies while on a trip to San Francisco in May of this year. The daisies were located on an outdoor walkway connecting the hotel we were staying at to a shopping centre. It had just stopped raining at the time I took this. You can see the raindrops on the daisies. I used the selective focus technique in this photo to isolate and draw attention to the daisey in the middle of the photo.
This picture is a view from a different angle than my last picture. For some unknown reason I had trouble posting yesterday so there was no image posted on Friday.
Petty Harbour is one of many beautiful fishing communities in Newfoundland. I took this a few weeks ago as crab boats were docked along the wharf. I used a crab pot in the foreground to add interest and give the picture some depth.
This is a picture I took of fishernmen in Little Harbour, a small community just outside Twillingate, Newfoundland. These fishermen are preparing their nets and boats to go caplin fishing in the morning. With the decline in the fishing industry in Newfoundland, we are seeing a whole way of life slowly disappearing before our eyes. At one time there were many fishing boats operating from this tiny community but now there is only one boat of fishermen who fish. It is very sad to see happening. I converted the colour image to black and white as, I believe, it better depicts our link to our fishing history.
This bird feather is caught up in wild grass. The soft light of the sunset brings warmth to the overall scene. This was shot tonight at Topsail Beach, Conception Bay.
After travelling for a few days I'm back to posting. The dog on the right stares intently at the Doberman who stole his red ball. I shot these pictures at Quidi Vidi lake in St. John's on the weekend.
It has been awhile since my last posting because I have been off on vacation. I shot this indoors today. Our weather has been very poor the last few days so I opted for some indoor shooting.

I shot this through a wire fence using the fence wire as a frame. I thought this picture would be appropriate given the world cup championship of soccer will be decieded this weekend.
This is a picture of the CN Tower taken from my hotel room while in Toronto in April of this year. The white rounded building to the right of the tower is the Rogers Centre, home of the American League Toronto Blue Jays baseball team
